Firm’s fourth active US equity ETF builds on growing demand for Putnam’s investment capabilities in the UK
London – 14 October 2026 – Franklin Templeton1, a global investment leader, today announced the launch of the Franklin Putnam Focused US Research UCITS ETF2, Putnam Investments’ first actively managed ETF in the UK. The ETF will list on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) on 15th October 2026.
The launch builds on the strong momentum for Putnam’s investment capabilities in the UK and follows the recent launch of the FTGF Putnam Global Research Fund3. Both new products draw on Putnam’s distinctive, stock-driven investment approach, combining deep fundamental research, collaboration across sector specialists and disciplined portfolio construction. While the Global Research Fund combines the strength of Putnam’s US Research strategy with Putnam’s non-US research expertise in a global portfolio, the new ETF provides access to a more concentrated portfolio of the investment team’s highest-conviction US equity ideas.
Harry Reeves, Head of UK Wholesale commented: “Many UK investors are beginning to turn to active ETFs to access flexible and cost-efficient investment products. With US equities continuing to play a central role in investor portfolios, we believe there is a compelling opportunity for strategies that look beyond index exposure and focus on identifying individual companies with strong long-term potential.
“The launch of the Franklin Putnam Focused US Research UCITS ETF gives UK investors access to Putnam’s established fundamental research capabilities through a concentrated, high-conviction portfolio. It further strengthens our investment offering in the UK, giving clients greater choice in how they access our investment capabilities across asset classes and investment vehicles.”
High-conviction US large-cap core equity strategy in an active ETF wrapper
The Franklin Putnam Focused US Research UCITS ETF will invest in 30-45 stocks representing the investment team’s highest-conviction ideas from the broader US Research Strategy, which has outperformed the S&P 500 Index in 7 out of the last 8 years4 across in both growth- and value-driven markets.
Experienced managers partner with industry specialists to develop high-conviction ideas through rigorous fundamental research, which are combined into a concentrated equity portfolio. The integrated risk management sleeve is implemented by Matt LaPlant, CFA, to mitigate any factor or style tilts.
The ETF will be managed by Kate Lakin, Matt LaPlant, CFA, Jackie Cavanaugh, Robert Gray and Will Rives, CFA, who have an average of 22 years of investment industry experience.
Kate Lakin, Portfolio Manager, Putnam Investments, added: “The ETF draws on the deep sector expertise of our research team, with stock selection at the heart of the investment process. By focusing on our strongest ideas, we aim to generate excess returns while using disciplined risk management to limit factor or style exposures.”
