S. James McGiveran III, CFA, CPA, FRM

James McGiveran is a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income. Mr. McGiveran is responsible for portfolio management of the Franklin High Income Fund and Franklin High Yield Fund. He specializes in the analysis of high yield and investment grade corporate bonds in the financials and insurance industries. He has previously covered aerospace, defense, airlines, restaurant, food & beverage, transportation, packaging, forest products and metals & mining.

Mr. McGiveran has over 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to his current role Mr. McGiveran was an investment banking associate at Citigroup. He also was previously with Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. McGiveran joined Franklin Templeton in 2006 as a research analyst.

Mr. McGiveran holds a bachelor of arts in accounting from Villanova University and a MBA in finance and economics from Columbia University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (FRM).
