Sameer Kackar, CFA

Sameer Kackar is a vice president and portfolio manager for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income - Multi-Sector in San Mateo, California, United States. Mr. Kackar is responsible for portfolio management of absolute return, low duration and global aggregate bond strategies. He also conducts research in developed markets rates and volatility, including portfolio hedging using derivatives. In this capacity, he works directly with senior economists to formulate macro strategy for the entire multisector fixed income platform.

Mr. Kackar has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to his current role, Mr. Kackar worked with Pacific Investment Management Co (PIMCO), and was also a systematic portfolio manager at a proprietary trading firm. Mr. Kackar joined Franklin Templeton in 2019.

Mr. Kackar holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Delhi, and a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from University of Chicago. Additionally, he completed a four-year Basic Program in Liberal Education for Adults from University of Chicago and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
